San Diego to report full compensation next year

We are pleased to learn that the City of San Diego will finally provide complete employee compensation data when they submit their 2018 data to us later this year.

San Diego’s pension costs are among the highest nationwide, at around 60 percent of pay, but those costs were not reported in the employee compensation data files previously provided.

The impetus for the change was an excellent report from the city auditor, which can be viewed here.

For a brief summary of the auditor’s findings, be sure to read the San Diego Union-Tribune story, Audit: city omits $52M from compensation reports.

Thank you for continuing to support our mission of increasing transparency in government — it is working!
